One of the things that struck me immediately were the traffic signals in Danang and Saigon especially. I believe it is the same in all the major cities.
Whereas, the locals do not seem to have all the elements of the technology we know and enjoy in the USA, they seem way ahead of us regarding traffic signals. Typically situated on top of every traffic signal throughout these cities is a very noticeable timer. Not only does it tell you the seconds before the green light or walk signal changes, but each of the 3 colors are on continuous display with a countdown! Whether red, green or yellow the timers are ever changing to let everyone know how many seconds are left on that particular color.
I would have to think the additional cost must be minimal by comparison, but the value in safety and stress alleviation ought to more than compensate! Why isn't every signal in the USA so equipped!

First Entry - My purpose
This is the intended first entry for this new blog of mine. It is not intended for comments, as I'm hoping to share my experiences in words and pictures. I'm hoping the visitors will be seeing my travels through my eyes and picking up on my experiences.
This first part will be my experiences and sites in VIETNAM. It is intended to be ongoing and hopefully revealing of sites most people will not have the ability or desire to experience themselves in person.
What follows will hopefully be either enjoyable or informative. I'm hoping BOTH!
